Introducing Richard Pace!

Richard Pace Self-PortraitI fully admit,

Before Daniel (Govar) suggested Richard as a potential member, I’d never actually heard of him. But, considering his LONG list of clients over the past 20 years, it’s a little surprising. Richards pencils and ink work is nothing short of gorgeous and his color work is really lovely. I would suggest that if you haven’t checked his work out before, definitely take a moment to go see what he does.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what he contributes to the Collective.

Check out the short interview below -

OC. Did you attend college? If so, where did you go?
RP. Yes. I studied Illustration at Sheridan College.

OC. Where or what do you draw inspiration from?
RP. I initially drew inspiration from fiction, mythology and the illustration that often accompanied it, but now it comes from the intersection of things I see in every day life and my over-active imagination. An overgrown drainage tunnel, a particularly striking tree, an abandoned and decaying stone building are enough to set my mind to creating the things that would dwell in or near them in a stranger world.

OC. What projects are you working on currently? Where can we find it?
RP. I just finished a three-part serial for Dark Horse’s Savage Sword anthology adapting Men of the Shadows and drew a large portion of Alex DeCampi’s ASHES graphic novel. Due to NDAs, I cannot announce what I’m currently working on.

OC. Is there a particular piece of artwork you are especially proud of?
RP. I’m rather satisfied with an Odin illustration I did for a mythology card set a year ago, but I’m always trying to improve, so I hope I can create a new favourite piece soon.
